St. Pete Mad Dogs

In the Tampa Bay area, the major triathlon club is the St. Pete Mad Dogs. Founded in 1993, the St. Pete Mad Dogs are a group or fun-loving triathletes. The only requirement to become a member is to complete a triathlon of any distance, fill out an application form and pay a very affordable due. The Mad Dogs, as they are more commonly referred to, are the largest triathlon club in the United States with over 1500 members. The club has weekly group runs and open water swim during the summer months. The club is heavily involved in putting on and volunteering for local triathlons as well. Members also join other local running, cycling and swimming groups for training as well. The club also organizes social events and holiday party. A newsletter called The Finish Line is published monthly.

Westchase TriGals

Westchase TriGals is a multi-sports club tailored specifically for women. Although most women on the team live in the Westchase area, it is not a requirement to join the team. The team welcomes beginning and veteran triathletes and hosts weekly training sessions, group runs, clinics, and social events. The group is sponsored by local businesses in the Westchase area.
